What is a Charter School?
Charter schools are free public schools that run independent of the New York City Department of Education and are given freedom to innovate inside and outside the classroom. Charter schools are held accountable for advancing student achievement, and can be closed if they do not meet these standards. The combination of freedom and accountability for success allows charter schools to be innovative while focusing on community needs. Most importantly, charter schools put student learning first.
Enrollment Admissions Lottery
Pharos Academy Charter School admissions lotteries take place in April each year and are open to the public. There is no cost to submit an application or attend our school. Pharos Academy accepts students from grades K-12, to include students with disabilities and english language learners.
