Our Culture

Together is Better

We believe in the power of team, or CREW, as we call it here at Pharos Academy Charter School. If you look behind the veil of any work of greatness, you will uncover a team of dedicated individuals. Our crew values extend from the classroom, where we promote student collaboration, to our workspaces, where teachers work and learn together. The work of educating children is too important and complex to go at it alone. Together is better.

Staff Culture

Rowers Only

At Pharos Academy our teachers commit to the Culture of Rowers. We take the principles of team, uniformity, endurance, and hard work from the sport. Teachers, like rowers, get up early and do the tough work. Learn more about how we row here at Pharos.

Crew Life

Our student community rests on our four habits of scholars; Critical Thinking, Effective Communication, Community, and Ownership/Self-management. Students are taught about these habits and are expected to routinely display these habits in the school and in their community. Our four Habits of Scholars are also the foundation for our Crew System which organizes our students into houses or teams. Learn more about our Habits of Scholars and our Crew System.

Student Culture

Inspiring Learning Spaces

Our physical environment is a huge part of our school culture. The learning environment should support and help shape the type of learning experiences we want students to have. Classrooms and hallway spaces should inspire and engage the school community to always be kinder and better. Take a look inside of our unique learning spaces.
